Validity of Accreditation extended
The validity of the NAAC accreditation for the College for the third cycle has been extended by NAAC from 15 September 2016 to 15 September 2018.
This was due to the change in criteria effected by NAAC: all Colleges which had the highest grade in the first three cycles of accreditation, could opt for an extension of validity for seven years, instead of the regular 5 years.
The College is now due for re-accreditation (fourth cycle) in Septemeber 2018.
An orientation for the NAAC Peer Team visit was given to the staff by the external member of the IAC Dr John Kattakayam on 18 November. This was followed by a Mock Visit on 19, 20 December; the two external members of the IQAC were the Peer Team members for this Mock Visit.
The Students' IQAC was reconstituted and a first preliminary meeting was held on 16 December. Details are available on the website of the Students' IQAC.
The third meeting of the IQAC, attended by the external members also, was held on 8 November 2016. The minutes of the meeting will be put up soon on the MEETINGS page.
The IQAC also had a meeting with the non-teaching staff of the College on 17 November 2016. The meeting discussed the preparation needed by the administrative wing for the NAAC visit. The minutes of the meeting can be found HERE.
The second meeting of the IQAC in 2016-17 was held today. This meeting was a review meeting to assess the status of the reaccreditation process and to decide on further steps to be taken to prepare the College for the NAAC Peer Team visit. There would a full meeting of the IQAC, along with the external members, in the first week of November.
The LOI was uploaded on the NAAC website on 5 September; it was accepted with Tracking ID KLCOGN14802 on 12 September.
The hard copy of the SSR was submitted on 14 September. Both the documents are accessible from the home page.
The SSR was uploaded on the College website on 24 August, but the Letter of Intent (LOI) could not be uploaded on 25 August as there was a technical issue with the LOI upload on the NAAC website. A soft copy of the LOI was sent to NAAC on 25 September. The LOI was uploaded on the NAAC website on 5 September; a copy is accessible from the HOME page.
Two additional meetings were also held; the first meeting of the members of all the seven Quality Circles, and the second a meeting of the QCs with HoDs. Both meetings evaluated the SSR and recommended minor corrections.
Preparation of SSR. . .
We are currently in the process of preparing for the visit of the NAAC Peer Team for the fourth cycle of reaccreditation.
The validity of the third cycle expires on 15 September 2016. We uploaded the SSR for the fourth cycle on the College website on 24 August.
We have also had two meetings this year. The fourth and last meeting of 2015-16 was held on 8 March 2016 and the first meeting of 2016-17 on 22 June 2016. Minutes of both meetings are available on the MEETINGS page.
The third meeting of 2015-16 was held on 4 February and the minutes of the meeting is available on the MEETINGS page.
The fourth meeting of the year will be held on 8 March. The main agenda for the meeting is finalizing the plan for writing the SSR.
The Co-ordinator of the IQAC participated in an FDP on Quality Assurance conducted by the ICT Academy of Kerala in association with FLAIR (Fostering Linkages in Academic Innovation ad Research, under the New Initiatives in Higher Education of the the Dept of Higher Education, Govt of Kerala) on 2, 3 March 2016 at Technopark, Trivandrum. The sessions were led by resource persons with experience in Quality Assurance in Education.
The IQAC has also taken the initiative to streamline the online registration process for End Semester Examination in the new College Management Software by preparing a Work Flow Document; this document is available on the DOCUMENTS page.
Meeting and Updates
The third meeting of the IQAC of 2015-16 will be held on Thursday, 4 February 2016.
The evaluation of teachers by the PG students of S1 and S3 has been completed. The evaluation report is available with the Principal.
The IQAC initiated an evaluation of each department by the teachers of the department in December 2015. The online exercise was closed on 10 January 2016.
A training for teachers to use the College Management System software was given by the CEO of Emstem Technologies, Mr Pimin Poley, on Thursday 14 January.
Evaluation of teachers by the students of FDP S4 batch was completed on 8 January. Evaluation was for the teaching done in S3.

The evaluation of teachers by students of the PG programme is in progress and will close within a week.
The next meeting of the IQAC is scheduled for the first week of February.
